When ammonium chloride is sublimed with silver chloride well powdered, it appears that nothing has happened and the 2 salts have been seperated. But when the sublimed ammonium chloride is dissolved in water, a beautiful red powder precipitates out of solution. What is this red powder? And if the process is repeated on the silver chloride enough times, it turns to ash and can not be melted back to silver at any temperature.
to Matt -- what are you talking about mustard gas? Sublimation of ammonium chloride and silver chloride does not create mustard gas! lol
................you werent using ammonium chloride thats mustard gas you cant work with that unless you are talking about theory.
