Car Mezuzah From I purchased a car mezuzah... one because it looked funny, and two because I was curious as to what it was. It's from Israel. Do I put it on the right side of my Passenger door? I'm an American, I drive on the right hand, and the driver seat is on the left side of the car. http://www.pongo.co.il/imageTool.aspx?pic=/productpics/pic_6_10_88_6038585.jpg&width=400 There is no such thing as a car Mezuzah in Jewish tradition. There is a tradition that a kosher Mezuzah scroll has protective qualities and therefore it can be placed pretty much anywhere for protection. The item that is commonly sold as a 'car mezuzah' is actually not a mezuzah at all. It is just a little box with a photocopy of the traveler's prayer. It does not have an actual mezuzah scroll inside. So definitely do NOT put it on your door as one person suggested here. It is not a Mezuzah, only a gimmick. All that being said, if you want to mount it on your dashboard or near the door of your car as a little reminder of God, the way you might put a picture of your child up in your car for example, there is nothing wrong with that.
