you know how in the family plots and village cemeteries from like the 18 and 19 hundreds had that black iron spike fence fencing it off? well on the interior of these (and I've seen several) there is usually 1 or 2 smaller fences of the exact same style within the cemetery. these are usually no bigger then 20 by 20 ish feet and have only a couple of headstones or markers in them. my ? is what are these smaller areas for? were the people buried in there significant in some way to the family or community?
The smaller closed off ares,and/or fenced-in areas are likely plots section off for families whom have purchased plots for relatives to be buried in close proximity of each other.
For example:
If I wanted Myself, my wife and children all buried side-by-side , I would purchase the plots available in the same area so my family would not be strewn about the cemetery.
