Is it legal to own a pet alligator in genessee county, michigan?
I don't want to hear your opinion on whether I should get one or not. I just want to know if I can legally own one. I have asked several different organizations, and gotten several different answers. Please don't give me false information either, as I don't want to be fined.
Michigan has a Large Carnivore Act, but it only applies to the larger cat species and bears. I have not found any laws regarding nonnative reptiles, and there is nothing listed at kingsnake for reptile laws in MI.
Genesee county does not have any of their laws online. I would suggest contacting your county fish and game and asking them.
