What's the most efficient way for a terminally ill person to get her/his affairs in order?
Specifically, someone who has NO living relatives, NO close friends and very little money. She has explicit wishes for her cremation and final interrment (nothing fancy, scattering of ashes in home town) but no one to physically enact them afterwards. Also needs help with mobility in visiting notary to draft will, visiting funeral service homes to pick out an urn, etc, ) Is there a society or fund resource or volunteer group for this sort of thing?
I think the person might get a lot of response if she writes the above as a notice and includes her address, contact phone number etc., and has it displayed at her local pub, local shop, restaurant, school, church, etc., she will get a lot of response, and hopefully she will be adopted by a bunch of new friendly people who are willing to do something for nothing but the gratification of having helped someone who is in dire need of assistance, and some love as well.
