I was watching a news story on the death of Korean movie actress Jang, Jin-young, very sad story by the way. I never knew her, but it is a tragic story. She was very beautiful and young.
Anyway, in one scene of the news story, they showed her casket, in another scene they showed her urn. Is it common to have a funeral with the casket and then have a cremation in the same day?
It depends on the family or the person who died. If they want their body cremated on the same day. But it also depends on the "social ladder" they were on. Usually if it was a president who died, they would bury the body a few days later he passed away rather than being cremated or buried the same day he died. So i'm guessing that her family or she wanted herself cremated the same day.
