Christians (and others) Have you read "Lamb" by Christopher Moore?
Have you read it? What did you think of it? What was your opinion of the depiction of Christ in this book? Did you find it offensive? I really enjoyed it. I thought it was an interesting work of fiction and found it terribly amusing. What did you think of it?
For those who don't know, Lamb is the "hidden" story of Christ from age 6 to the cross (you know, all that stuff that ISN'T covered in the bible) as told through the eye of his best friend Biff. It's a really funny story. If you haven't had a chance to read it, you should definitely take the opportunity to do so.
I have to agree that it wasn't Moore's best. I'm partial to A Dirty Job (it makes me giggle like a school girl every time I read it). I'm also a fan of Coyote Blue and Fluke.
I've read it, and quite enjoyed it. I don't see where there was anything to get offended about in the depiction of Jesus - it was kinder in a lot of ways than the depiction in the Bible, and certainly kinder than a lot of the apocrypha.
I don't think it was Moore's best book though. I prefer Island of the Sequined Love Nun myself, with Coyote Blue as a close second.
