We just found out my cat died. We've had her since I was 8 and I'm now 19.
Apparently, she got out of the house and our dog ended up getting her before she could get away. We didn't know (we just thought she got out again and she'd be back within a few days like always) and animal control found her in our neighbor's yard.
They took her and operated on her and whatnot, but missed something because it didn't show on the x-ray. Where the dog got her, it punctured her spine.
Our neighbor came over this morning and told us what happened and was describing the cat. When I showed her a picture, she said that was the cat. We called the vet to confirm and it was.
Now (I'm grieving, so excuse me if I sound off) I don't know which would be better to do.
Have her cremated and her ashes places in an urn, or have a pet casket and bury her under the tree in the backyard with a headstone.
If it was your pet, what would you do? I want to do what's best for her, you know?

my dog died on saturday. i had her since i was 8 and im 20 now.
we buried her in the backyard. and my mom and brother planted some flowers on her grave.
that way we can visit her whenever we want, no matter what time of day it is, we can just walk out back.
