How much are Garnets usually worth?

I have a small one ounce vial that i filled with garnets when I went gold panning in a major gold mining site today.
and Im not so much concerned with the gold i found, but more so about the garnets.
How much are they worth usually?

Garnet is in fact not a single stone. The word garnet is applied to a very interesting family of minerals all of which have a similar molecular structure but contain different metallic elements.
The most common garnets are shades of red/brown. Small stones are interesting but of almost no value at all. To have value uncut garnets must be either of the rarer types or have large clear crystals which are prized by mineral collectors. When garnets are good enough to be cut the value depends on the type, the size, the clarity and quality of cutting. The cheapest are small almandine/pyrope types costing less than a dollar a carat (0.2gr.) up to fine green demantoid garnets costing up to $15,000 per carat or more.
