Granite Memorial

What is the mineral that can be seen in the pinkish flecks in the granite of the Lincoln Memorial?
The granite is Pre-Cambrian age granite from Milford, Massachussetts. This mineral is separate from the feldspar crystals. What is it?!
If the pinkish flecks aren't feldspar, I would guess that they're quartz. I don't know of any pink mineral in granite other than these two.
There might be a chance that the flecks are muscovite, but while mica may be found in granite, it's usually biotite, not muscovite.
