Is it safe near Gene Coulon Memorial Park, in Washington?
I was curious to know whether or not its safe around the Gene Coulon Memorial Park, in Renton Washington. I'm moving to Washington soon, due to a job offer and I don't want to live in Seattle, so I was looking for something outside of Seattle, and I found some townhomes that are near there that I like, so I was wondering if anyone knows if thats a good area to live in, I have kids so is it also a family area too. I just don't want to regret moving there. Thanks for any help, honest answers appreciated.
Renton is great. I live up the hill from Coulon in Renton Highlands. I like it a lot (and I have a young kid too). You also will have the benefit of the new Landing shopping center right across the street, with Target, Petsmart, Lowe's, 14-plex movie theater, and lots of smaller stores.
You don't mention how old your kids are but there can be quite a difference between schools in Renton. Elementary schools: Kennydale is GREAT, Highlands SUCKS. Middle schools: McKnight is good, Dimmitt is HORRIBLE. High schools: Hazen is awesome, Renton is awful.
It's a good, safe, area...as usual, there will be a "bad" element no matter where you live, but we like Renton a lot and it's a great little community with a lot to offer.
