I'm taking a portrait soon, and I'd like to know what types of jewelry photograph well.
Dangle earrings, studs, or maybe chandelier ones?
Big necklaces, tiny pendant, or something else?
Also, what eye makeup would be good?
Thanks for the help!
If the session if for you, take multiple outfits that fit your personality. Everything else like accessories should fall into place. Try to avoid crazy patterns because it can be distracting and the focus should be on you.
For makeup, keep it simple. Have a fresh, clean face and keep your makeup light. Little foundation and concealer and no bulky mascara. In other words, a natural look. It is easier to add that to take off too!
Earrings and other jewelry can also be distracting especially metals because they reflect a lot of light. So the smaller the better.
It may also be a good idea to look at different photographs to see if the way a photographer incorporated jewelry and makeup is something you like.
Remember that the photo session is for you, not the jewelry or the makeup you wear. This is your moment to shine. Hope this helps. Have loads of fun!
