Rag quilt with t shirts?

I want to make a rag quilt for the first time and I want to know if t shirts make acceptable fabric? I've made a t shirt quilt already. Anyone tried a tshirt rag quilt? Thanks.

When you say 'rag' quilt, I assume you're talking about the style where the seam allowances are exposed on top and left to fray?
Most people seem to prepare the t-shirt fabric as for a regular t-shirt quilt, then add strips of woven fabric around the t-shirt block - the woven strips are what's sewn and allowed to fray. If you interface the knit, it won't fray, and if you don't it tends to just unravel and fall apart.
