I found this pendant or keychain charm in a parking lot and it has hebrew and some english on it and I googled the letters and it turns out its a "tetragrammaton" so i now know what that is, but it has a large star in the middle and a mini star of david and a mini sword on different sides of the star, but in the middle of the star is an anchor. and on the star has hebrew. what the heck does all this mean? is this a wicca, or occultic thing?
what does this mean? i am a christian and i dont want wichcraft relics in my posession.
what is a "magical amulet"? what is "high magic"?
(btw i have no preist, and i dont think my pastor will know what to do w/ it.)
It's not Wiccan. Those who use Hebrew names of God generally fall into the category of Ceremonial Magic. It is "occult" but I suspect you and I are using that word differently. Occult practices are merely those practices that seek out hidden knowledge.
High magic is religious magic: It's magic rooted in religious belief with a goal that is ultimately spiritual rather than practical. Ceremonial magic is traditionally high magic.
The tetragrammaton is one of the Jewish names of God. The five pointed star can mean many things. Without seeing the amulet in question I would guess protection. The six pointed star in magical terms generally represents the unison of spiritual and material worlds. It's possible the two swords represent male/female polarity. Ceremonial magic items commonly used hebrew lettering. I'm not sure about the anchor.
