String Kabbalah Blessed And why do they wear a red string around thier wrists? Is that string blessed? Thank you !! Kabbalah is the mystical part of Judaism which sought to understand the Torah through mystical means. The pop culture which has taken Kabbalah, is not what it really is. Kabbalah is learned, traditionally through the years, by Orthodox Jewish men over age 40. 40 was determined to be an age at which point a man knew enough Talmud and Torah to understand Kabbalah and it's deeper meanings. The Principal book is the Zohar, by Lurie. The Red String, is really used to keep away what we'd call the Evil Eye. Or rather the evil impulse. It's a superstition. Pop Culture uses it as some sort of fad. Like everything else.
