telephone white pages in chiusa sclafani, sciliy- tried conventional method, and ideas?
I am doing genealogy work, it would be helpful to see who lives in this small town today, perhaps I can find names which correspond to names I have been seeking. It's a small town of less than 4000 people, in the United States we have local telephone directories, perhaps this also applys to other counties, I looking for names, not yellow pages, thanks for any help someone might give

Although letter-writing is a "dying art", that might be the best way to approach this, not by telephone (the long-distance charges could get huge!)
Find the name & address of one or more newspapers in the "target area", and write an "open letter" describing who you are and what you are looking for. Small-town newspapers anywhere are usually looking for interesting things to put into their papers, and small-town readers may be intrigued enough to respond. I would suggest that you DON'T ask for someone to send you a copy of their phonebook; but if you described what you're looking for or what particular surnames, there is a good chance that someone will decide to practice their English-writing and respond to your query. (You may want to include an email address in your written query.)
