I am after designing myself a tattoo, but am thinking twice about getting it.
The picture is a leprechaun wearing a Donegal GAA shirt with a rosary around his neck, about to throw a football he has just removed a grenade pin from.
Bearing in mind the recent 30 years of bombings, shootings and so on, I am worried it would be seen as promoting paramilitary, sectarian, or other violence. This is not the case, it was simply about 'blowing away the competion' in a humourous, sporting way.
What do you think it would imply to someone who didn't know me?
I would particularly like opinions from Irish people or people who know the situation here pretty well. I'm from Donegal but live in County Fermanagh at the moment.
Maybe ditch the rosary to remove referances to religion. I think it's an awesome idea. I know how serious peopl take their footie, so your more to get shited at for having a tat of the wrong team then the possible referances to paramilitaristic violence!
