its late at night so i can't do anything til morning. what can i do with her until then? my daughter gets home from work in 30 minutes we will have to tell her and we will have to make a decision on services. our options are backyard burial or cremation. i have never had to do either one. is it even legal to bury in the yard (small Pekingese) and how do we do it? i mean how deep and in what? casket or wrapped in her blanket? how deep etc. if we opt for cremation what is the cost of that.approximately? we would want to bring her ashes home. if anyone has advice on how to bury And on how to tell my daughter the sad news i would appreciate it. we have only had her two years. we rescued her from the pet clinic where she was abandoned. she was 9 then and not in the best of health. her last two years tho she was a very happy girl.
we are in california
My heart broke reading you question.
Wrap her in a blanket to take to the vet in the morning for cremation. Or if you want call the local emergency vet clinic and see what they say. They may keep her overnight while your family comes to terms with your loss.
Also, your daughter may want to take her with her when she moves out of the house; therefore, cremation is a better option. She can personalize the urn; and at the same time she can keep her in a place no "animals" will get her.
