Can cremated remains be buried on private property in Oklahoma?
I have looked online for this answer but found nothing cut and dried on it. Now, I am hoping someone in Cyberland can help me.
My brother died in a car accident a couple of years ago, and it was his wish to be cremated. The deed was done, but he has been sitting on a shelf in my father's room since that time. I want to bury him on our property in Oklahoma, with a proper marker, near a pond on the place. Is the private burial of the urn, with a marker, allowed in Oklahoma? Do we have to get some sort of special permission to do this? Or can we just bury it with a marker without having to jump through legal hoops to do so?
Any help on these questions would be appreciated.
Talk to the funeral home that handled your brothers cremation and ask them about your idea.they should have the answers or know how to get the answers.Being that you own the property I really don't see a problem but check it out just to be sure.
